Syndicate can work with multiple providers. You only need one provider to start, but connecting more providers gives teams more model options.

Claude

Claude uses browser OAuth first.
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Claude.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Complete the browser sign-in flow.
  5. Paste the authorization code into Syndicate if prompted.
  6. Wait for Claude to show as connected.

OpenAI / Codex

OpenAI uses Codex CLI authentication plus a live capability check.
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select OpenAI or Codex.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Complete the browser sign-in flow.
  5. Return to Syndicate.
  6. Wait for the app to verify that Codex can run.
Signing in is not always enough. Syndicate also checks whether the account can execute Codex. Plan limits, quota, workspace policy, or expired credentials can still block provider readiness.

Gemini

Gemini may use an in-app terminal during authentication.
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Gemini.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Follow the terminal or browser prompts.
  5. Wait for Gemini to show as connected.

Choosing a default provider

After providers are connected, choose the provider and model that best match the type of work each agent performs.

Verify setup

Provider setup is complete when:
  • The provider shows as connected.
  • The provider has at least one available model.
  • New agents can select that provider’s models during creation.
